Social housing.
For the past 3-years I have worked with dozens of local people who have experienced social housing issues. These include:
- Issues with the homes they live in, Issues include fire, property maintenance, and relocation amongst other issues which I cannot discuss here.
- Moving into new social housing, particularly at Sun Lane, Burley in Wharfedale, and Bingley Road, Menston. There are a variety of issues, however, I have all the background detail and having worked with social housing providers, I have a good working knowledge of the whole process.
If you’re affected by issues, please get in touch I can provide advice and guidance on the whole process, including what is and what’s not possible based on legal agreement.
I had asked my MP to help me with a social housing issue after a fire, but the matter wasn’t dealt with.
I asked Bob for help, he got straight to work to solve all issues. My home was redecorated and repairs were carried out quickly. He arranged rent rebate, plus compensation.

Shared ownership affordable housing.
There remain issues with rent to buy homes at Sun Lane, and I’m acutely aware of issues which are delaying occupation. I’m awaiting legal detail from housing providers, and will of course share detail with those who have already been in touch. I will also provide advice to those people who are embarking on their journey to home ownership.
The social housing issue.
The issue is that too few social homes are being delivered. It has been whispered that owners of second homes are part of the issue, the reality is that their are a lot of private landlords, amongst whom is our own MP. (see:https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmregmem/240804/dixon_anna.htm).
10% of MPs are landlords including four senior Labour figures. Generation Rent said MPs were “around three times more likely to be landlords than the rest of us”, adding: “Landlord power within parliament has left renters with few legal protections.”
The perception that MPs are profiting from the same system that Labour is supposed to reform isn’t helping – there’s a real risk voters will see this as hypocrisy and question our credibility on renters’ rights.

I have for the past 2-years worked alongside people at David Wilson Homes and with the social housing provider. As I have worked on the Sun Lane development since 2016 and opposed the development, I have all the relevant background legal agreements etc, so I am able to provide unparalleled help and advice.
In all cases, please reach out to me – bob.felstead@bradford.gov.uk, or call 07811 505799 in the first instance. It should be noted that this is a level playing field and I unable to confer any advantage to applicants. The advice provided to everyone is exactly the same, however, it’s better to be informed than to do this in isolation.
