Council tax message from the leader of the council

£60 million improvements for the people of Shipley and Keighley.

You may recall receiving the following flyer in your recent council tax bill.

Council alledged £60 million spend in Shipley & Keighley

So I took the decision to find out a little more, as the headline is often different from the published detail.

The council initially couldn’t respond to the request as they stated that the request lacked clarity, so I sent a copy of the leaflet in response. I then received the following response, which paints a completely different picture.

What’s interesting is that none of this £60 million is from Bradford, rather it’s money from the government.

Questions to ask.

When you’re presented with a knock at the door or an email, pause for thought, and ask the right questions rather than accept thimgs at face value.
