LBA planning application for night-time flights

night-time flights LBA

A message from GALBA regarding airport expansion.

You may be aware that Leeds Bradford Airport is going to submit a planning application to Leeds City Council soon. The airport wants to completely change the rules that restrict night time flying in such a way that the number of planes flying between 6am and 11.30pm would radically rise.

Please find attached a 2xA4 briefing on the implications of that change for the environment and for the health & wellbeing of local residents. I hope you find it informative and if you would like further information or to discuss LBA’s proposed expansion, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

My concerns are around the health impacts of night-time flying and expansion, and I’m working with GALBA and sharingnotes on Airspace Change Proposals (ACP) and the Airspace Modernisation Strategy (AMS).
