Airport Consultative Committee March Airport

Leeds Bradford Airport CAP1616

Bradford Council have not submitted their expected application for membership of the Airport Consultative Committee (ACC). This is the 6th year in which the Council have not participated in discussions at the ACC, despite being a statutory consultee. Given that Wharfedale, Bingley, and Baildon wards are overflown, it is hard to believe that we receive no official representation from the council. I will of course, continue to be a strong voice for our community on behalf of Burley in Wharfedale Parish Council.

Leeds Air Traffic control made a verbal report with no slides or documents about Airspace Change Proposals (ACP). LBA stated that they were at something of an impasse with the CAA, who LBA accused of changing their guidance, being inconsistent with their interpretations and frustrating the process. The guidance; CAP1616 has not changed since it was first published after LBA’s failure submit their initial proposal on June 3oth, 2023. It’s therefore impossible to see how the CAA have changed their guidance.

LBA have failed the last 3 gateways and are now preparing for the next one in June 2025. LBA are considering some new arrival and departure options based on GPS, but may decide to pause and re-appraise their options. LBA’s failure at the last ACP is given here.

I’ll revisit discussions on night-time flying over the course of the next week or so.
